Mehendi function

Mehendi is a traditional & exciting pre wedding function. This function is prevalent from ancient times & is an integral part of the wedding. Mehendi is an indispensible part of the bride’s adornment. This function takes place one or two days before the wedding. The lists of arrangements for the Mehendi function are listed below:

  1. Usually the Mehendi function is organized by the bride’s family & close friends & relatives are invited for it.
  2. Decide the budget.
  3. Prepare guests list with contact details & postal address.
  4. You can send separate invitation cards for mehendi function or include it in the wedding invitation card as an extra leaflet.
  5. You need to prepare the menu & inform all the details to the caterer.
  6. As per the budget, you need to make arrangements for decorations of the venue with flowers, lights, etc.
  7. Appoint a photographer/ videographer to take photos & videos so that you can preserve all the memories of these special moments forever.
  8. Arrangements for Mehendi function:
    • An expert/professional for bridal Mehendi.
    • Assistants for applying mehendi to close relatives & guests.
    • Mehendi / mehendi cones.
    • Mehendi designs (traditional / latest) for the bride.
    • Music /DJ or dholak for the ladies to sing folk songs, Mangal geet, etc.
    • Snacks & drinks.
  9. Mehendi is applied to the bride on the hands, arms & legs. You can use traditional designs or various new design patterns for eg: Arabic Mehendi, Rajasthani Mehendi, Crystal Mehendi, Tattoo Mehendi, etc.
  10. Mehendi is also believed to protect husband from evil spirits, diseases, misery, and death.
  11. After the Mehendi is dried & removed, the colour of the Mehendi is auspicious & symbolizes fertility, strength, strength of the marriage, love, emotional & sexual bonding between the bride and groom.
  12. Popular belief is that darker the colour of Mehendi the more the bride will be adored & loved by her husband.
  13. While mehendi is being applied, snacks & drinks are served. Also there is dance, music & some females sing wedding folk songs along with the dholak.
